Scientists from the University of Brasilia develop an “anti-gravitational” vehicle designed to travel the fluvial routes at a low cost and great speed.

The device possesses an autonomy of two thousand nautical miles, a maximum speed of thirty knots, an average electrical consumption of about 250 watts/mile, that is so say, like an ionic hair dryer.

  Planet Earth turns out to be more than 50,000 kilometers going around a time and a quarter. This is the distance that the new vehicles designed by the applied physics department of the University of Brasilia can travel. This is the approximate length of the fluvial routes that Brazil drains out thanks to the omnipresent Amazon basin and those of its not so smaller brothers, Sao Francisco and Rio de la Plata. After decades of investigation it has been achieved. The anti-gravitational shield that the physics ‘gurus,’ like Yevgeny Podkletnov, dreamed of seem a little bit closer to us…and farther from the earthly surface.

   The advances in the superconductor material field at the Brazilian University have been crucial in developing the device. The prototype is a kind of nine meter long by four breadth barge whose base is far from being hydro-dynamic, but is polyhydric, as if they had removed the keel. On this flat surface resides the technology capable of a miracle. “This advance will revolutionize our transportation system.” Wenceslau dos Santos, from the Department of Gravitational Waves with Laser Interferometer of the University of South America tries to explain it: 

-It’s about taking advantage of the properties of diamagnetism of both the superconductor of the vehicle’s shell and the water. This property was discovered by Faraday halfway through the nineteenth century and consists of the repulsion of the magnetic fields that some elements or chemical compounds experience. Thanks to the so-called Meissner-Ochsenfeld effect, the superconductor repels its solenoidal magnetic field outwards. Upon this field interfering with the one of other diamagnetic material, levitation is produced. Since we thought that it would be too expensive to fill all the basins of all the rivers in South America with bismuth, after previously raising the temperature to two hundred and seventy one degrees centigrade to have it in a liquid state, we used water, which also has that chemical property that interests us.-After the general laughter he explains that he wanted to check to see if we had fallen asleep halfway through the explanation that continues: -This high temperature superconductor has been conceived expressly to be found in “phase”, so that you understand me, with the liquid element, meaning that our vehicle couldn’t levitate over any other surface. It is important to highlight that we are not talking about a machine that cancels out the effect of gravity, something that we consider physically impossible with our current technology, but rather about two surfaces that exert a powerful repulsion effect between themselves, moreover, one of them being, in a way, “less sensitive” to the gravitational bosons. We are talking about a superconductor created with the fifth form of known material, condensed by Bose-Einstein, that in order to maintain its temperature it is refrigerated with liquid helium, after being previously dropped with photonic ricochets by laser. This way, we obtain a very peculiar ceramic material that radiates a variable magnetic field depending on the time, thanks to the synchronized movement of its ions , resulting in it raising a half ton ship up forty centimeters over the surface of water. The rest is simple: A hydrogen battery feeds an electric generator that supplies the superconductor ceramic escutcheon as well as the propulsion system of the propeller.


  After the explanation a few technical details about the device come up that astonish us: autonomy of two thousand nautical miles, a maximum speed of thirty knots, a much reduced average electricity consumption, of about 250 watts/mile, that is to say, like an ionic hair dryer. We must clarify that this is the consumption in the boats’ trip, not that which the escutcheon generates, which is much greater, although the managers of the project hope to optimize it soon.

In fact, this is the point of inflection that the scientists mark, for it to go around Cape Horn and then from the laboratories to society. Future applications: Infinite. The experience points toward caution although it is undeniable that, in some middle term, the badly named anti-gravity will change the world and even some astros within our reach. If you implement what you learned in the prototype on other air vehicles, land or aquatic ones, we will enter into a new era in the field of applied physics.

  To finish off, an anecdote. Wenceslao dos Santos, one of the workers on the project, told us why he embarked on this adventure and literally, on the un-gravitational ship the day that it was shown to the press:

-When I was a child, I spent my vacation in New Brunswick, Canada. The famous magnetic hill is found there that mysteriously exerts a repulse effect contrary to gravity. Some people from around there mentioned extraterrestrials without blushing at our incredulity. The truth is that my father turned off the anacronic combustion motor and the car magically rose up to the top of the hill. I didn’t understand anything then, I didn’t know about inverted polarized electromagnetic waves but, the exact mystery that surrounded the phenomenon sparked my childish curiosity, and opened up a little door in my brain that took me here…flying!!
