Danish pharmaceutical company Kongeriget Øresund
markets the first “Immortality Pill”

The laboratory is putting on the international market pills that, under medical
supervisión,
can increase the life expectancy of a human being by around 65%

The immortality that Borges loathed so, maybe not, but to reach 140 years of age is now possible. Almost a century and a half in life’s horizon will bring us a little closer to the son of the biblical patriarch Enoc, the Matusalen of the old testament who they say died the year of the flood coming close to a millennium of age. The pharmaceutical Danish laboratory Kongeriget Øresund has achieved a miracle, after decades of investigation. The pills, that can only be obtained with a prescription and medical check-ups, have been approved by the Agency of European Medicine and the Chinese and American homonyms.

Living kills us. Eating, breathing and any metabolic function makes us older. Reducing the caloric consumption in rats by 40% made them live longer.

Enjoying a longevity equivalent to the Galapagos Island giant turtles, the human species begins its new run for eternity, strengthened, rejuvenated, equipped with a gift from the Greek god Cronos, but in a modern version: Gifted with a fabulous present from the gods and heroes of now: the scientists. Living kills us. Eating, breathing and any metabolic function makes us older. Reducing the caloric consumption in rats by 40% made them live longer. This meant counteracting the seven types of molecular and cellular harms, as well as their inexorable deterioration and harmful mutations of the chromosomes. Let’s get right into the details:

1- The chemical reactions of our organism produce hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), among other substances, that build up like a silent assassin and lead, step by step, to complete disintegration. The H2O2 makes the proliferation of free radicals generated easier in the mitochondrion and attack on the flotation line, deteriorate and kill cells (apoptosis), they ruin our DNA, our proteins, and our fats. The lack of glutamine acid, activator of the nervous system, is the reason that our organism deteriorates. Strangely, the H2O2 in the industry is a useful compound that is used for bio-treatments, the rusting of metals, disinfections, the absorption of carbon and in Fenton reactions, among many other things.

2-On the other hand scientists-those forgotten heroes, as cited before, -determined that the production of insulin, the protein that regulates the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and starch, was a determining factor in the longevity of an organism. The insulin that is secreted by the islets of Langerhans in the pancreas is a result of the different combinations of a lot of different amino acids, composed of oxygen, hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen, and sometimes, sulfur. Excess or fault can kill us. Something similar to what was said before can be said of another substance, with other properties but similar effects in human longevity: Melatonin. Balance, a key word that we will see again in this article.

3- DHEA (dehidroepiandrosterona) is a natural hormone synthesized by the glandulae suprarenales that we have above our kidneys. It is the precursor of, at least, another six hormones and it regulates our delicate endocrine balance. Thanks to this hormone we have hydrated skin (its production lessens with age), we protect our neurons or we fight against osteoporosis keeping the adequate bone density. Although, at the beginning of the century, because of a study, the conclusion was reached that its anti-ageing effects are insignificant, a synthetic variant of this is its exact administration and it is demonstrated that it “helps the cause” if one doesn’t take it as the principle crux, but as an additional compliment to treatment.

Taking into account that “immortality” can come by various paths, the chemists and pharmacists of the beautiful northern country decided to fuse them into only one. They took the results of dozens of studies, like those done during more than half a century in the Ageing Center of Baltimore, in the department of Applied Genetics of the University of Cambridge or the Hangzhou Institute of Longevity, among others. From the end of the last century factors that directly influence longevity have been known. Maybe the most important one is the genetic. For example, now tobacco has practically been banned, but before this social change it was possible to see octogenarians smoking like chimneys. Spicing up that smoke with more than four thousand five hundred harmful substances…

In this epigraph that talks about lifestyle, they included, in spite of genes, diet: Moderate is the key word, without depriving yourself of almost anything, but always in small doses. “Eat green, like rabbits and have pleasant protein exceptions each week, and then you will live like turtles” doctor Pedro Atienza Romero joked, gerontologist and sub director of the Institute that carried out the study that we are dissecting.

…that were introduced into the lungs of some of those elderly people that also had a diet rich in fats. How could this be possible? The bullet in the Russian roulette was a blank? The answer is in DNA. Some organisms are more susceptible to catching mortal pathologies than others. That’s why the environmental factor becomes the background, except in some extreme cases in which the individual decides to commit suicide, eating like candy a chunk of enriched uranium, for example. The Danish pharmaceutical company Kongeriget Øresund clarifies that its medicine doesn’t directly approach the genetic front. Another question is that each individual’s genes, subjected to treatment, would make the effects more inclined or refractory.

Another factor, apart from the genetic one, that strictly influences longevity, is lifestyle. Studies of more than ten thousand individuals in the Gerontological Institute associated with the University of Cantabria, were conclusive. An excess of physical work, like stress, prematurely ages a person. A field worker in the middle of the twentieth century looked twice the age of a musician, for example, halfway through our century. It was also demonstrated that, strangely, people with more stable personal lives live longer than singles. Married people live longer than unmarried people. It is a piece of information that, if it were more widely known, would make more than one person reconsider their way of living. The mountaineer Institute determined that a relaxed, but active life elongated the years of life in a ratio that was between 2 and 9 springs. Reading and writing, working, exercise for the mind, walking and moving, exercise for the body, converted into natural therapies for those who want to enjoy a healthier and longer old age. Harald Skærbæk, biochemist and head of the department of production at the pharmaceutical Kongeriget Øresund, knows perfectly about this study and recommends that we strictly follow its conclusions. Nevertheless, he also underlines that the recently commercialized medicine has nothing to do with the habits of a healthy life, although obviously, he recommends them. Knowing what fronts don’t attack the medicine, we ask him to talk about the strings that move the puppet, the sting operation, what was built up behind the scenes before the miracle pill was put on the market. He does it very nicely in the next interview, which we earnestly recommend, as we do that you lead a healthy life, subjecting yourself, or not, to the new treatment. Another possibility is that you live the life that you want, and in the end hibernate, now that it’s possible. In any case, the release of the medicine “Gilgamin” will revolutionize our society in a way that is still unimaginable.
